15 influential bloggers, several who get a lot of traffic onto their blogs everyday (hundreds daily, some thousands daily!) decide to use their influence to change lives forever. They’re from all across America, some of them have never even met each other face to face. But these guys and gals decide to get together and go on a trip to Uganda. Why? They’re all lovers and supporters of Compassion International. Their commitment? They’re doing several things while they are there with Compassion. But one is to avidly blog about their trip with stories, pictures, videos and experiences so that more children from Uganda will be sponsored through Compassion.

Awesome idea. These guys are taking time off of their everyday lives, they’re jobs, away from their kids and families so that more lives will be saved. Good stuff. Read some blogs, see their pictures, sponsor a child (Canadian site). I love what Compassion does, they literally save kids’ lives all over the world as we partner with them. Check out the details of this Blog Project with Compassion.

There’s a great widget that Shaun Groves made which lists all 15 blog links, pictures, videos, etc but WordPress can’t read its code. But i put the widget on my Facebook page so you can go there or go to his post about it and click on one of the “Blogs. Read. Watch. See. Give” tabs.

I went sledding for the first time in my life this weekend. Besides the fact that my toes and fingers were freezing in the -25 weather, it was pretty darn fun. Someone had previously made a little jump on the hill so mini-adventures were had.

Calgary staff team + sleds and GT’s + snowboards + little jump + camera = hilarity!

After finishing in the afternoon we uploaded the videos and watched them. Much laughter. We decided we weren’t done yet. Back to the hill with a couple of snowboards in the evening. The little jump proved itself quite little. Pretty short lived but more videos came out of it anyway.

This video reminds me of Mario Kart. I look like a character from the SNES Mario Kart!

There’s tons of other videos, lots of crashing and burning and wipeouts (ahem, Darren mostly).

I bought another 5 CD’s last night. For cheap. Two in store, three online. Included was Jack Johnson’s newest, Sleep Through the Static. I’ve listened through it twice so far but have yet to give it more appreciation. It’s sounding pretty monotonous right now but 2 listen-throughs is not nearly enough. And i haven’t really looked at its lyrical content yet so i’m sticking with it. But his last album, In Between Dreams was uber good, he set his own bar high. I love that album, brings back good memories especially around coffee shops and the ocean in the backdrop.

My new blog here at WordPress has been very music-centric (yes, i’m making up my own words) so far. I still have to post about Lyric #1 of 2007 for me. It’s been in my head a while, just gotta get it down. There are some things i miss about my Xanga, my old blog host. Oh Xanga, you’re still cool i guess. Minus your new dumb google ads, arrrrgh.
